Should we start encouraging families to have only two babies or less? The number "2" when it comes to babies is known to be the magic number that doesn't cause the population to increase or decrease. In Italy they are averaging only 1.2 babies per mother so they are literally losing people! America has come a long way in the past few decades. They used to be averaging 5 or 6 about a half a century ago; now they average 2.
It isn't only about space, but about resources. If the world becomes overpopulated, it is plausible that we will start fighting over water instead of oil, which is really not a path we want to go down.
What do you think? I am not saying we should establish laws about this; I mean encouragement and also a little birth control.
